Your business has one constraint. Find it.

Your business has one constraint. Find it.

Most founders try to improve everything at once. Better marketing, better hiring, better product, all in the same quarter. It feels productive. It rarely moves the needle.

The truth is that at any given moment, one constraint is setting the speed of the whole system. Until you find it and relieve it, effort spent elsewhere is largely wasted.

Finding your constraint is uncomfortable, because it is usually the thing you have been avoiding. But naming it is the highest-leverage hour you will spend this month.

Ask one question: if everything else stayed the same, what single thing — if it doubled — would most change the business? Start there. Ignore the rest until it moves.
